How to Cancel a Subscription Without Getting Charged Again
The General Process
Most adult site subscriptions are cancelled through the billing processor — not the site itself. This is the single most important thing to understand: the cancel button is usually not on the site you subscribed to. It's on the billing company's website, which you access through a link in the member area or on your credit card statement.
Step-by-Step
1. Find the billing support page. Log into the site. Look for: "My Account," "Billing," "Manage Subscription," or similar. The link to the billing processor is usually here. If you can't find it on the site, check your credit card statement — the billing descriptor often includes a support URL or phone number.
2. Access the billing processor. Common processors in the adult space include Epoch, CCBill, Segpay, and Vendo. Each has its own member/support portal where you can manage subscriptions. You'll typically need your username and email or the transaction ID from your credit card statement.
3. Cancel the recurring billing. On the processor's portal, find the active subscription and select cancel/stop renewal. This stops future charges but usually lets you keep access through the end of your current billing period.
4. Get confirmation. Screenshot the cancellation confirmation page. Save the confirmation email. If you don't receive email confirmation within 24 hours, contact the billing processor directly to verify the cancellation processed.
5. Monitor your next statement. Check your credit card statement after the next billing cycle to confirm no new charge appeared. If a charge posts after confirmed cancellation, you have documentation to dispute it.
If You Can't Find the Cancel Button
Some sites make cancellation deliberately difficult. If you can't find a self-service cancellation option, contact the billing processor directly via their support page or phone number (found on your credit card statement). State clearly: "I want to cancel my recurring subscription to [site name], account [your email/username]." Get written confirmation.
If the processor is unresponsive, contact your credit card company and request a block on future charges from that billing descriptor. This is not a chargeback — it's a prospective block on future transactions, which is within your rights as a cardholder.
After Cancellation
Most subscriptions remain active through the end of the paid period — cancelling stops future charges but doesn't revoke current access. Some sites will offer a discount or extended trial when you try to cancel (a "retention offer"). Whether to accept is your call — but remember that the same inertia that got you here will operate on the discounted subscription too.
